The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Gusau, has revealed the body is currently negotiating a new contract with Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro.
Peseiro’s previous one-year contract expired in July.
The NFF has reportedly proposed a pay cut for the Portuguese to keep his job.
Gusau hinted that the football house hopes to reach a conclusion on the gaffer’s future soon.
“His contract ended in July, and we’re now talking to him and his lawyers,” Gusau was quoted by SCORE.
“We hope to conclude very soon, and a decision will be made based on the recommendations of the technical committee.”
Peseiro was appointed Super Eagles coach in May 2022.
The Super Eagles are scheduled to take on Sao Tome and Principe in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier next month.
