The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially declared the position of the head coach for the Super Eagles vacant.
This decision follows the departure of the former coach, Jose Peseiro, who officially left the post at the end of last month. Contrary to speculations about ongoing negotiations with Peseiro, the NFF has taken a new direction by declaring the position open for interested coaches.
The vacancy is open to both expatriate and local coaches, inviting applications from those eager to take on the responsibility of guiding the Super Eagles. The move signals a fresh start for the national team, as the NFF seeks a suitable candidate to lead the team to future successes.
Jose Peseiro, the former coach, played a role in the Super Eagles' journey to securing the second position at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. However, with his departure, the NFF is now actively seeking a qualified individual to step into the pivotal role.
In addition to the head coach position for the Super Eagles, the NFF has also declared the U-17 coach position vacant. The former Super Eagles defender, Nduka Ugbade, was previously in charge of the team.
Interested coaches are encouraged to submit their applications to the NFF, marking the beginning of a new chapter for both the Super Eagles and the U-17 team. The federation's decision to open these coaching positions reflects a commitment to ensuring the best leadership for Nigerian football at both senior and youth levels. As the search for new coaching talent begins, football enthusiasts eagerly await the next chapter in the Super Eagles' journey under new guidance.
