Kano Pillars pulled off a thrilling comeback to secure a 2-1 victory over defending champions Rangers at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday, with Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle watching from the stands.



Rangers took the lead in the 33rd minute when Bashir Usman calmly converted from the penalty spot, silencing the home crowd.

However, veteran midfielder Rabiu Ali responded with a spot-kick of his own just before halftime, leveling the score.

The decisive moment came in the 60th minute when Jerry Alex netted the winner, sealing a crucial three points for the hosts.

Meanwhile, in Ikenne, league leaders Remo Stars maintained their dominance with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Plateau United.

Samson Olasupo emerged as the hero, scoring the decisive goal in the 76th minute to extend Remo Stars’ lead at the top of the table.
