As Villarreal eliminated Bayern Munich from the Champions League on Tuesday, Germany veteran Oliver Kahn vowed that Robert Lewandowski will be at the club next season.
Bayern Munich's current contract with Lewandowski will expire in the summer of 2023.
In recent weeks, the 33-year-old has been linked with a move to Barcelona.
According to reports in Poland earlier this week, Lewandowski had informed Bayern Munich's chief executive Kahn of his intention to join the Bundesliga giants and had reached an agreement with Barcelona on personal conditions.
However, Kahn now claims that allowing the Poland striker to depart Bayern would be "insane."
Kahn told Amazon Prime Deutschland, "We definitely have Robert with us for another season."
“We know what we have in him and we are relaxed about it. Apparently, there is a competition out there: “Who will tell the biggest nonsense story about Robert Lewandowski?
“Talks will continue. We are not crazy and are [not] discussing the transfer of a player who scores between 30 and 40 goals with us every season.”
