Victor Osimhen is expected to be named the upcoming African Player of the Year, according to former Nigerian international Mutiu Adepoju.

He asserts that Osimhen is the only football player on the continent who can compete with him.

The Napoli striker for the Super Eagles has 17 goals in 18 Serie A games.

With 15 goals, Osimhen currently has the most goals scored in Italy.

No one has reached his level yet, and in my opinion, he still has time to accomplish more, Adepoju told Brila FM.

"If this were the right time to pick the best African player, he would win it with ease."
