Portugal midfielder Bruno Fernandes has suggested that his team thrashed the Super Eagles of Nigeria 4-0 in an international friendly tie on Thursday night in Lisbon because his teammates dominated at all levels throughout the encounter.
A brace from Fernandes and goals from Gonçalo Ramos and Joo Mário gave Portugal the victory over Nigeria.
The friendly match was played at the Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon.
Speaking after the game, Fernandes, a Manchester United star, told Sport TV: “Perfection did not exist, or at least it is very hard to accomplish, but we made a great game, dominating every level."
“It was a win that gives us great confidence ahead of our debut against Ghana." We are a team; it isn’t about individuals, and we have a great group of young players who are up-and-coming and hungry. "We are ready for the World Cup.”
