England defender Kyle Walker has made it clear he won’t “roll out a red carpet” for France’s Kylian Mbappe.
Both countries meet in the 2022 World Cup quarterfinal on Saturday.
Walker is likely to start for the Three Lions and will come up against Mbappe, who is the top scorer in the tournament.
The duo have come up against each other three times at club level, when Manchester City clashed with Paris Saint-Germain.
Walker has won twice and lost once.
“The game is not England vs. Mbappe; it is England vs. France."
“We respect that he is a good player in good form at the minute." But I’m not going to roll out a red carpet for him and tell him to go and score.
“I am representing my country in the quarterfinals of the World Cup, so it is really do-or-die." "He is not going to stand in my way of hopefully winning the World Cup for my country,” Walker said.
