Victor Osimhen claims that winning the highest goalscorer award is not as important to him as assisting Napoli in winning the Serie A championship.

After establishing a 15-point lead at the top of the standings, the Partenopei are the favorites to win the Scudetto.

The Naples team last won the Serie A championship in 1990, a season in which the legendary Diego Armando Maradona played a significant role.

They are primarily coasting home this time because of Osimhen.

For Luciano Spalletti's team this season, the Nigerian international has scored 18 goals in 19 league appearances.

The striker has five more goals than his competitors, making him the favorite to win the top scorer award.

Osimhen, however, said being the top scorer is not his main priority.

“The team comes before my personal ambition,” he told ESPN.
“If I win it, that’s fine, but what I want to do is try to win trophies with my team." "As long as the team is winning, it doesn’t matter to me who gets the goals or whether I win top scorer or not.”
