Al Ittihad is debating submitting a fresh offer for Mohamed Salah of Liverpool before the Saudi Pro League transfer window closes on Thursday.
Senior officials at the Saudi Arabian club feel they should wait until next summer, while others believe it is worth making one more attempt to sign Salah.
Any new offer would need to be approved first by the SPL through chief executive Saad Al Lazeez and director of football Michael Emenalo.
Liverpool rejected a verbal offer for Salah worth up to £150 million from Al Ittihad on Thursday.
Speaking after they defeated Aston Villa 3-0 on Sunday, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp said: “I never had any doubts about his commitment to this club. You can’t imagine how much fuss the world has made but how calm we are with it. He is our player, and he wants to play here.”
The SPL window closes at 10 p.m. UK time on Thursday.
