Chelsea attacker Carmey Chukwuemeka is set to leave the Premier League champions for Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.

The German side is reportedly interested in signing the attacking midfielder, according to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg.

DAILY POST reports that Chukwuemeka joined Chelsea from Aston Villa in August 2022 for a reported transfer fee of £20 million.

He went on to make 17 appearances across all competitions for the Blues in his first season without scoring or assisting any goals.

Last season, Chukwuemeka made 12 appearances; this season, he has played only five matches.

The Blues boss, Enzo Maresca, has not selected the youngster in the Premier League lineup even once this season.

Chukwuemeka has failed to impress Maresca and is nearing a departure from Stamford Bridge.

His former club, Aston Villa, is also interested in bringing him back.

The 21-year-old has a contract with the Blues that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2028, and he currently has a price tag of £40 million.

However, his former side, Aston Villa, considers Chelsea’s valuation for the player excessive because his stint at the west London club has been filled with setbacks.

Apart from his former club, West Ham United is also considering a move for the 21-year-old midfielder.

And now, Borussia Dortmund has become the latest entry in the race to sign the Englishman.
