Villarreal have been dealt a severe injury setback ahead of their UEFA Champions League semi-final match against Liverpool later this month.
Villarreal striker Gerard Moreno has suffered another muscle problem ahead of his match against Liverpool.
In Villarreal's 2-1 win over Getafe on Saturday, Moreno took a knock.
So far this season, the 30-year-old has been one of Villarreal's most significant players.
In 26 appearances with the Yellow Submarine in all competitions, the Spaniard has 13 goals.
Providing an update on Moreno’s injury, Villarreal coach, Unai Emery, said, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo: “Muscularly, he has noticed something. We will see how serious it is because he has suffered from a muscular injury again. In the player’s despair of having another injury, we have to work on his recovery.
“Repeated muscular injuries are small frustrations in small spaces of time.”
