West Ham will be busy over the next few days, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano in his exclusive column for CaughtOffside.
The 25-year-old PSG defender is one of the Hammers' summer transfer targets, according to Romano, but Sevilla has also made a bid for him.
West Ham is pursuing Thilo Kehrer in a race that also includes Sevilla, as both clubs have made offers.
Negotiations have started after it appeared likely that Kehrer would be one of the names sold off next in PSG's sales this summer.
Romano also claims that the Hammers are keeping an eye on Polish defender Jakub Kiwior, who currently competes for Spezia Calcio of Italy, not as a summertime replacement but rather as a potential future addition.
While Spezia center-back Jakub Kiwior is being watched by the Hammers for the future and not this summer, "I believe West Ham will be busy in the next few days."
David Moyes will be keen to sign an additional defender after suffering another injury crisis in his squad. Newly signed centre-back Nayef Aguerd sustained an ankle injury during pre-season (Transfermarkt).
Kurt Zouma remains the only recognised senior central defender, with Craig Dawson and Angelo Ogbonna still recovering from their injuries.
Moyes will need reinforcements to adjust to his new team straight away. Kiwior has the talent that could make him a mainstay in the centre of West Ham’s defence for the next couple of years.
