In the quest of justifying her action, the student named Salawudeen Waliu has said that he beat the female lecturer because she didn't want to wave her SIWES course for him.

According to Waliu, he said he was illegally detained in Lagos by the Police for two months based on a false allegations of theft, and that hindered him to submit his SIWES report. And he want the lecturer to wave the course for him and the female lecturer refused.

He went to her office that day, and the lecturer ordered him to leave but he didn't leave and this led him to beat the lecturer to coma.
