Sensational Sarah Aderibigbe, better known by her stage name Ayra Starr, a Nigerian singer, has stated that she does not appreciate being named the Best Female Artist of the Year by the Headies Awards' administrators.

The Daily Post cites actress Osas Ighodaro, who served as the co-host of the 16th Headies Awards, as saying that the ceremony had ended with about 13 categories, including Best Female Artiste, still to be given out.

The organizers later announced the winners of those categories via their social media pages.

Reacting via her X page on Monday, Ayra Starr wrote: “I will never be grateful for winning a category that wasn’t even deemed fit to be announced on stage. Best female artist, na beans? We work hard, every single one of us! I’ve seen Tiwa record four hits in the same night. Tems breathes and lives for music. We didn’t deserve such nonchalance! Nigeria, you didn’t raise me to settle for less.”
