Popular Nigerian singer and politician, Bankole Wellington, also known as Banky W, has announced that he has left Nigeria to pursue a master’s degree in Policy Management at Georgetown University in Washington, D.

C. The singer, who ran for a House of Representatives seat under the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in last year’s general election but lost, has been relatively quiet since the election.


Banky W shared the news of his educational journey on Instagram, stating: “For family. For faith. For finding purpose. For the next year of earning a Master's degree in Policy Management at Georgetown University in Washington DC.”


The artist is expected to return to Nigeria after completing his studies to continue his career in music, public service, and advocacy. Fans and followers have expressed their support for his decision, wishing him success in this new chapter of his life.
