Daddy Showkey, a veteran musician, has criticized the boxing promoters who brought Floyd Mayweather to Nigeria.

He took to Instagram to slam them for always bringing international boxers to meet with politicians rather than Nigerian boxers who have been working to make boxing important in Nigeria. He summarized their behavior in one word: "Mumu."

Daddy Showkey called them illiterate for disregarding their own boxers in favor of international boxers. He went on to say that they are also irresponsible for not sending their own representatives to meet with the politicians, Rotimi Amaechi and others, who profess to want to celebrate boxing as a sport in Nigeria.
