Renowned nightlife figure Cubana Chief Priest has issued a word of caution to Nigerians, urging them to steer clear of any encounters with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In a recent Instagram post, the bartender emphasized the arduous legal ordeal suspects face during EFCC trials, advising against getting entangled in such matters.
"Court day, problem no good Oh, @officialefcc No Dey Joke Oh !!!! Better stay away from their wahala, I’m sure you will not love to pass through this Kinda stress I’m passing through," Cubana Chief Priest shared on Instagram.
This warning comes in light of reports indicating his involvement in an out-of-court settlement following allegations of abusing the naira. A Federal High Court in Lagos has set June 5 as the date for a report on the settlement in the case against Cubana Chief Priest.
Previously, the EFCC arraigned Cubana Chief Priest on three counts related to spraying and tampering with naira notes during a social event at Eko Hotel in Lagos State. Despite pleading not guilty to the charges, he was granted bail in the sum of N10 million.
Justice Kehinde Ogundare adjourned the case until May 2 for the hearing of preliminary objections and trial. As the legal proceedings continue, Cubana Chief Priest's advice to Nigerians underscores the importance of exercising caution and avoiding potential legal entanglements with the EFCC.
