So #PCAA as it will be shortly called is a platform to appreciate the hands behind a successful event and celebrate the best of events across Nigeria with an expansion plan into the African space. Its maiden awards was done in 2018 in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. It was a gathering of young entrepreneurs, brands, events personalities, events enthusiasts and a whole lot more.

Twenty-one awards were given to winners from various categories as well as 4 honorary awards handed out to outstanding personalities across Nigeria. We had a spectre of guests from across Enugu, Lagos and Owerri who converged for the events activities which included the live viewing of the UEFA champions league as well as an events marketing seminar on digital Marketing.

Our guests were thrilled to musical displays, theatrical performances as well as sumptuous smoothies and pastries from one of our sponsors. It was a night of bliss, glitz and glamour.

The event is billed to hold in Nsukka, a prestigious town in Enugu on a later to be released date in November this year, while other activities such as nomination and voting will be carried out within the months of September and October. According to the Creative director, Poptv Events Africa, Mr. Chinedu Nmegwah, the idea behind its choice is based on recognizing where it all started as well as improve the events and entertainment culture of the University town.

University of Nigeria is known for its ensemble of talents and high profile personalities that have visited for one event or another and also the heterogenously spread number of students who have over the years hosted some of the best events the South East has gotten. Also speaking to reporters, the CEO of Deriving Joy entertainment lauded the efforts of the organizers and was happy to partner with Poptv Events Africa, an organization headed by young talented entrepreneurs, towards bringing up a standard in the events industry by awarding uniqueness, creativity and entertainment all in one night. The event will be organized by EventsbyPop, a sister group in charge of events planning in conjunction with DerivingJoy digital, a known brand in events planning and promotions with numerous events successfully held under its watch.
