Popular Nollywood actor, Timini Egbuson, has expressed disappointment over the lack of support musicians show toward the Nigerian film industry.

Taking to his X handle on Sunday, the movie star stated that actors often rally behind the music industry, but the same level of support isn’t reciprocated.

“I really wish musicians supported Nollywood the way we support their music, but that’s a conversation for another day,” he wrote.

The Nigerian entertainment scene has long witnessed collaborations between the music and film industries. Many musicians have featured in Nollywood films, while several actors have ventured into music, with some even collaborating with top artists. Additionally, some actresses have starred as vixens in music videos.

Despite these cross-industry partnerships, Egbuson’s statement highlights an ongoing concern about the need for stronger backing from musicians for Nollywood’s growth.
