On September 22, 2024, Asake received a silver plaque for his sophomore album during his sold-out concert at the O2 Arena.
This milestone came as part of his world tour following the release of his third album, *Lungu Boy*, where he performed at some of the world’s most renowned venues, including the iconic O2 Arena. Fans were treated to electrifying performances of his hit songs, and notable figures like Grammy Award-winning artist Wizkid and actor Idris Elba were present to celebrate the moment. Idris Elba presented Asake with a sold-out plaque as well as a BRIT silver plaque for his album *Work Of Art.
Work Of Art is now Asake’s second album to earn a BRIT silver certification, following the success of his debut album, *Mr. Money With The Vibe*, which also received the same recognition in the UK. Asake has cemented his place as a dominant force in the UK, with all three of his albums reaching the top of the UK Apple Music Album Chart, making him the only Nigerian artist to accomplish this remarkable feat.
His recent O2 Arena show reflects his growing influence in the UK, where he joins the ranks of fellow Afrobeats stars Davido and Wizkid, both of whom have also sold out the O2 Arena multiple times. The venue holds significant importance for Afrobeats, marking its global rise. In 2018, Davido became the first Nigerian solo act to headline the O2 Arena, and Wizkid followed suit in 2019, later making history by performing three consecutive sold-out nights at the venue in 2021.
