The multi Grammy Awards winner Aretha Franklin was confirmed dead yesterday August 16, 2018 at the age of 76.
She has been hospitalized for days before she passed away yesterday.
Aretha who was being called "The Queen of Soul" left a great legacy in US through her songs and writings .
Her recorded acclaimed albums such as I Never Loved a Man the Way I Love You (1967), Lady Soul (1968), Young, Gifted and Black (1972) and Amazing Grace (1972) and many others won her different awards.
It should be noted that, Franklin was one of the singers that performed during the first term inauguration of Barack Obama in 2009 and also, she had performed in many august events globally.
Several tributes are being sent to the deceased family from prominent people across the world. In his tributes the erstwhile President of US Barack Obama tweeted that "Aretha helped define America experience. In her voice, we could feel history and it in every shade....".
The burial arrangement is yet to be announced.
