The United States Central Command on Monday revealed the Houthi-controlled locations that were hit by airstrikes after a presidential order.
Director for Operations for the Joint Staff, Air Force Lt. Gen. Alexus G. Grynkewich provided the details at a briefing alongside Chief Pentagon Spokesman Sean Parnell.
Grynkewich said under President Donald Trump’s direction, the CENTCOM carried out precise bombardments to restore freedom of navigation and American deterrence.
“The initial wave of strikes hit over 30 targets at multiple locations, degrading a variety of Houthi capabilities,” he confirmed.
Grynkewich listed the targets as terrorist training sites, unmanned aerial vehicle infrastructure, weapons manufacturing capabilities and weapons storage facilities.
Others were command-and-control centers, including a terrorist compound where several senior Houthi unmanned aerial vehicle experts were located.
The assault also affected additional headquarters locations, and Houthi detection capabilities that were previously used to threaten maritime shipping.
Grynkewich added that the operation will continue in the coming days “until we achieve the president’s objectives.”
On the Houthis claim of firing on the USS Harry S. Truman after the strikes, Grynkewich said, “It’s very hard to tell based on the level of incompetence they’ve demonstrated.”
