In a devastating turn of events, Nathan Mithi, a member of the prominent Zambian music group Ghetto Link, recently took his own life.
The reason behind this tragic decision was allegedly his wife, Sabby Phiri's, infidelity. Nathan Mithi was laid to rest on Thursday, December 14, 2023.
The details of this heart-wrenching incident unfolded through a lengthy suicide note that Mithi shared on his Facebook wall. In the note, he opened up about the tumultuous journey of his marriage to Sabby, accusing her of infidelity, deception, and a pursuit of a lavish lifestyle.
"If you are seeing this then I am probably DEAD! Ati ‘I need space’ kansi ah nyegesa kunja (however, she is sleeping around). Don’t skip but learn from me. Sabby, you are the reason for my death,” wrote Mithi.
He narrated disturbing instances, claiming to have caught his wife engaging in intimate acts with other men, including a young relative and a landlord. Shockingly, he revealed 15 incidents of alleged infidelity involving Sabby, including encounters with fellow musician General Kanene and Government spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa.
Mithi laid bare the struggles within his marriage, recounting a troubled relationship that spanned back to 2012. In a heartfelt plea to others, he urged men not to marry solely based on looks, admitting his own mistake in doing so.
"Never marry a woman because of her looks but marry her for who she is. The first mistake I made with Sabby,” he reflected.
In a somber twist, Mithi acknowledged his own shortcomings as a husband, citing them as a reaction to Sabby’s alleged infidelity. This tragic incident sheds light on the complexities of relationships and the importance of understanding one another beyond superficial appearances.
