The ruling party in Zimbabwe has won the majority seats in the country's election by securing 109 seats against 41 for the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC).
The Zimbabwean electoral commission [ZEC] is expected to announce the result soon. The ruling party swept up votes in rural constituencies by huge margins while the opposition has won most urban centres. ZEC affirmed to announce the presidential result anytime soon.With Zanu-PF securing two-thirds of the Parliament seats, the result means President Emerson Mnangagwa's party will be empowered to make changes to the constitution at will.In the meantime, there has been uproar in the capital city; Harere by the opposition party with the claim that the reason for the delaying of the result is to manipulate it in favour of the ruling party and they have been chanting "we want our result".
