10 DEAD INCLUDING 4 CHILDREN IN LAGOS SATATE BUILDING COLLAPSE
10 has been declared dead in a building collapse incident that happened in Lagos State yesterday.
The storey building located at No. 63 Massey Street, Ita Faaji area of Lagos Island also houses a primary school, Ohen Nursery and Primary School, and residential apartments.
The building caved in around 10a.m. The residents of the area was initially acting as rescue team before the attention of Lagos State emergency bodies was brought in.
Lagos State Emergency Management Agency was deployed on the site, before being joined by Lagos State Ambulance Service, Lagos State Fire Service, Lagos State Building Control Agency, Federal Fire Service, National Emergency Management Agency, Nigeria Police Force, Rapid Response Squad, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Red Cross Society and the Lagos State.
The building was said to have collapsed due to its decapitated state. Currently, about 50 people have been pulled out of the remains of the building and rushed the hospital.
