Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the former governor of Rivers State, has acknowledged that he is terrified of his own state's governor, Nyesom Wike.
When asked if he will return to Rivers State to help his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, steal power from Wike in 2023, Amaechi stated during an interview with Channels Television.
"My eyes are here [in Abuja]," Amaechi stated after being reminded that Wike had stamped his feet on Rivers politics and that charity begins at home.
"This is now my home." My governor is the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, and Abuja is now my home. "This is where I reside and conduct business."
When asked if he had any plans to return to Rivers State, the Minister replied, "When we reach the bridge, we'll cross it." For the time being, the FCT minister serves as my governor."
"Yes," Amaechi answered when asked if he was terrified of Nyesom Wike. I'm terrified of him. I'm terrified.
"Because I'm a 'fear dread man' now," Amechi said to the interviewer when asked why the former Governor was frightened of his successor. What exactly is your issue? He laughed as he continued, "When we arrive to the bridge, we'll cross the bridge."
