Ibrahim Sikiru, a young guy, was detained by agents of the Ogun police command for allegedly murdering his biological father, Mumuni Ibrahim.

The 27-year-old was apprehended after a report was filed at the Onipanu divisional headquarters by one Abiodun Sunday, who was identified as the deceased's neighbor.

The victim, who was a security guard, had gone home in the morning and found his son sleeping, according to the complainant.

The dead, according to sources, asked his son why he was still in bed at that hour of the day. The son was claimed to have become enraged and attacked his father with a machete in various places of his body.

Abimbola Oyeyemi, the command's image maker, told journalists in Abeokuta on Saturday that the police moved to the area after receiving the information and detained the culprit. He added that the crew also rushed the sufferer to a general hospital for treatment, but that the victim eventually died.

The police "seriously suspect" the kid of being a cultist, according to Oyeyemi, who added that he "had no reasonable explanation for his actions when interrogated."
