In a recent incident on the Agbara-Badagry Expressway in Lagos State, two individuals sustained injuries in an auto crash, according to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
The accident, which occurred around 12:54 a.m., involved a collision between a truck and a car, prompting swift response from FRSC personnel.
Mr. William Manga, the FRSC Commander for the Badagry Unit, provided details of the incident, indicating that the command received notification at approximately 12:57 a.m., with officers arriving at the scene by 1:02 a.m. The crash took place at the Ibereko Barracks axis of the expressway, involving a Howo truck and a Mazda car.
Upon assessment, it was discovered that two individuals, a male and a female, sustained injuries in the collision. They were promptly transported to the General Hospital, Badagry, for medical treatment.
Manga attributed the cause of the crash to speeding and wrongful overtaking, emphasizing the importance of caution for motorists traveling along the Agbara-Badagry expressway, particularly due to the current single lane in use.
In light of the incident, motorists are urged to adhere strictly to speed limits and conduct routine checks on their vehicles to ensure roadworthiness. Heightened vigilance and compliance with safety measures are essential to prevent similar accidents and ensure the safety of all road users.
