Mizanmil Abubakar, a 29-year-old resident of Minna, Niger State, has confessed to murdering his father, driven by deep-seated hatred.

The details of the crime were disclosed by the Niger State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, in a statement issued on July 30, 2024. According to SP Abiodun, the Kpakungu Police Division received a report on July 29 at around 10 am about the disappearance of Abubakar Adawa, 65, from his home in Barin-Sale.
Police operatives, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), visited the residence and summoned Mizanmil Abubakar and his mother, Aisha Abubakar, for questioning. A thorough search of the compound led to the discovery of the severed body of the missing man, buried in a shallow grave within the premises.
During interrogation, Mizanmil confessed to the murder, revealing that his intense hatred for his father drove him to commit the crime. He admitted to using a hoe to kill and dismember his father before burying the remains in the compound.
SP Abiodun stated that the preliminary investigation is ongoing, and the suspect will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Minna for further investigation and prosecution. atred and violence.
