The shocking incident occurred on top of the NNPC Bridge as Oyekanmi was returning from a bank where he had gone to make withdrawals in preparation for the governor's budget presentation scheduled for Thursday.

Following the attack, he was swiftly rushed to the State Hospital, Ijaye, Abeokuta, where he was sadly pronounced dead.

Upon reaching out to the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, SP Omolola Odutola, it was revealed that she was yet to receive a briefing about the incident.

Two high-ranking civil servants at the Governor's Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, who spoke with our correspondent, confirmed the tragic event.
