The Abia State Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr.
Ikechi Emenike, has lost his seat on the Umuahia North Local Government Council to the standard-bearer of the Labour Party (LP), Dr. Alex Otti.
The Daily Post reports that the prominent factional leader of the All Progressives Congress in Abia state had earlier on Saturday, March 18, 2023, cast his votes at his Umukabia Ohuhu ward, alongside his wife and Nigerian ambassador to the United States of America (USA), Mrs. Uzoma Ikechi Emenike.
The results as announced by the INEC returning officer in charge of Umuahia North showed that Otti of the LP polled a total of 27,668 votes to beat APC’s Ikechi Emenike, who scored 7,225 votes, while Enyinnaya Nana Nwafor, candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), took third place by polling a total of 2,999 votes.
