A priest of the Catholic Diocese of Awka, Anambra State, Rev.

According to reports, the priest mercilessly flogged the widow with a whip, leaving her with multiple injuries. A viral video circulating on social media shows the distressed widow, a primary school teacher, sobbing uncontrollably while displaying the wounds inflicted by the clergyman.

Mrs. Ikeorah, who hails from Ifitedunu in Dunukofia LGA, works as a teacher at Angel Primary School, Ifitedunu—a Catholic mission-owned institution. Sources claim the assault occurred during a staff meeting where teachers were discussing a potential salary increment proposal for the management. It was during this gathering that Rev. Fr. Muokwe allegedly stormed in and subjected the widow to brutal flogging, leaving witnesses in shock.

When contacted by DAILY POST for his side of the story, the priest neither confirmed nor denied the allegations but refused to comment further.

“I cannot speak to you, I can’t speak, especially to someone I do not know about this matter,” he stated in a solemn tone.

The disturbing incident has sparked widespread condemnation, with many calling for justice for the widow.
