Tension is high in Abuja as top leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) converge at the party’s National Secretariat for a highly anticipated National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.
According to DAILY POST, security has been significantly tightened around Blantyre Street, where the meeting is taking place. A combined team of heavily armed security personnel, including soldiers from the elite Guards Brigade, has cordoned off all roads leading to the venue. Both vehicular and pedestrian movement in the area have been restricted.
Key party figures have already arrived, including all members of the National Working Committee (NWC), the Forum of State Chairmen, former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari, Minister of Budget and National Planning Atiku Bagudu, and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu.
The party’s top brass—including APC leader and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas—are expected to be in attendance.
This high-stakes NEC meeting follows a national caucus meeting held just a day earlier at the Presidential Villa, setting the stage for crucial party decisions. Stay tuned for updates on the outcomes of this pivotal gathering.
