The Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted over 1,000 bags of poisonous rice in Ogun State.



The bags of rice was transported into Cotonou from India and then smuggled into the Country from Benin Republic.

The Acting Comptroller of FoU, Zone A, Hussein Ejibunu, disclosed this during a press briefing.

Meanwhile, Nigerians are encouraged to be careful as some bags of those rice might have been successfully smuggled into the country and in circulation.
