It has been a matter of urgent concern in Niger state as one of the 227 councillors in the state disappeared with 10 bags of rice, 10 bags of bean and 10 bags of maize that is meant for palliative support in the state.
The councillor from Katcha local government of the state, whose identity is not disclosed was said to have failed to distribute those items that he ought to have distributed to the people in his constituency.
Secretary to the Niger State Government (SSG), Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Matane, who is the Chairman Niger State Taskforce on COVID-19, who confirmed this, said the Councillor was part of a Committee set up for the distribution of the grains to his community.
However, the SSG has promised to deal with the councillor and also vow that the Niger state government will keep providing more palliative for the people.
