One of the branches of the White garment church; Celestial Church of Christ in Lagos State is facing criticism after featuring street-hop artist Portable and Fuji singer Pasuma in its upcoming praise night event.

The event flyer, shared on the church's Facebook page on Wednesday, has sparked discontent among netizens who expressed their dissatisfaction in the comments section.

The flyer details the event: "JOIN US ON 15th OF DEC, 2023. As We Celebrate our 7th Year Anniversary on Our ANKARA/PRAISE NIGHT. Performing: ALHAJI WASIU ALABI PASUMA a.k.a. Oganla, HABEEB OLALOMI a.k.a Portable, MAY-SHUA, EVANG. SUNDAY GP a.k.a De Governor."

A Facebook user, Bolanle Bamidele Adewuyi, shared her thoughts, commenting, "This is depressing… Do you want the Church of God to become like this? It is very funny."

Another commenter, Festus Olanrewaji Ojo, expressed disappointment, stating, "This is unfortunate! A great and deep shame."

In a straightforward remark, BU KO LA emphasized, "This is completely nonsensical."

The decision to include secular artists in a church event has evidently sparked a wave of criticism, with many questioning the appropriateness of such a lineup within a religious celebration. The comments reflect a mix of concern and disapproval from individuals who believe the church should uphold a more traditional and sacred approach to its events.
