Earlier today, former Kaduna State Governor Malam Nasir El-Rufai appeared at the Federal High Court in Kaduna to formally endorse his affidavit in support of his legal action to protect his fundamental rights against the Kaduna State House of Assembly and the Kaduna State Government.
El-Rufai has initiated legal proceedings in response to allegations from the Kaduna State House of Assembly that his eight-year administration misappropriated ₦432 billion, leading to significant financial liabilities for the state. On Wednesday, El-Rufai’s attorney, Abdulhakeem Mustapha, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, filed the lawsuit at the Federal High Court in Kaduna.
The legal action challenges the findings of the Kaduna Assembly Committee, which accused El-Rufai of corruption. El-Rufai disputes these allegations, seeking to defend his fundamental rights and clear his name.
