On Tuesday in Anambra, a clash between security forces and gunmen resulted in five deaths and several injuries.
The clash occurred when the Anambra Joint Security Force raided two gunman camps in Aguluezechukwu and Ogboji.
During the operation, locally made rocket launchers, charms, and police uniforms were recovered.
Although the Anambra police spokesperson, Ikenga Tochukwu, did not specify the number of casualties, it's reported that four gunmen and one police officer died in the shootout.
The police command in Awka stated that the hunt for the gunmen has expanded to Obofia Forest, Aguluezechukwu, and Ogboji areas.
