Former Governor of Katsina State, Barrister Ibrahim Shehu Shema, has officially announced his defection from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Shema made this announcement following a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja.
Accompanied by the incumbent governor of Katsina, Umar Dikko Radda, Shema's decision to cross party lines is expected to reverberate throughout the political landscape of Katsina State and beyond.
Political analysts suggest that Shema's defection to the APC could potentially reshape the political dynamics of Katsina State, influencing future elections and redefining the balance of power within the state's political structures.
"It could significantly influence future elections and potentially reshape the balance of power within the state’s political structures, leaving the political landscape in a state of anticipation and uncertainty," remarked a political analyst in Katsina.
It should be noted that Shema is one of the big gun politician in the state, and he still control a lot of supporters in the state.
