Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, Onyekachi Nwaebonyi, has strongly refuted the sexual harassment allegations leveled against Senate President Godswill Akpabio by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduagha.
Speaking during a live national television broadcast, Nwaebonyi dismissed the claims as baseless, asserting that he was present at the alleged location and witnessed no such incident. He categorically described the accusations as false and without merit.
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduagha, who represents Kogi Central Senatorial District, alleged that Akpabio made inappropriate advances toward her.
She further claimed that after rejecting his supposed advances, her legislative motions—particularly those concerning the Ajaokuta Steel Company—were deliberately sidelined in the Senate.
Her allegations have sparked widespread public outcry, with many calling for an official investigation to uncover the truth behind the claims.
This controversy continues to fuel debates across political and public circles, raising concerns about ethics and accountability within Nigeria’s legislative chambers.
