Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has blasted the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr.

Paul Arkwright for his comment that United Kingdom (UK) remained firm in its support for one Nigeria.

Arkwright had, recently in Kogi State, where he was reported to have delivered a public lecture on the topic: Brexit: Lessons, Challenges and Opportunities for Nigeria at the Federal University, Lokoja declared support for one Nigeria.

A statement by IPOB spokespersons, Dr. Ikenna Chinaka and Mrs. Grace Ukpai said the group took time to painstakingly analyse the statement credited to the British envoy and we found it unfortunate and distasteful that a seasoned diplomat of Mr. Arkwrights standing, could have displayed such ignorance of international law and protocol.

It read: From our careful observation, we are of the view that two factors could have been responsible for Mr. Arkwrights uncharacteristic diplomatic blunder. The first that comes to mind is ignorance and the second, which is equally unfortunate, is mischief.

We will want to presume that the statement of Arkwright may have been influenced by that opening phrase in the Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar (Nigerian) 1999 Constitution which read as follows: We the people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, having firmly and solemnly resolved to live in unity and harmony as one indivisible and indissoluble sovereign nation in God

Meanwhile, the people of Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State, yesterday cried out that the spirits of IPOB members massacred on May 30, 2016 in the town by soldiers and the police during a protest for the sovereign state of Biafra, were still tormenting them.
Addressing newsmen, the spokesman of the community and a community leader, Chief Chibuzor Okeke, said the people of Nkpor are not happy that the killing took place in their land, adding that since the senseless and unprovoked killing of suspected IPOB members and non members in the town, we have never known peace and a lot of strange things have been happening.

I am aware that some Igbo men and women were massacred here in Nkpor, in the name of fighting IPOB members, and since then, it has not been well with the community.
