Okon Edet was one of the 52 suspects arrested for various offenses, including murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, child trafficking, cultism, and fraud. These arrests were announced by the Akwa Ibom Police Commissioner, CP Waheed Ayilara, during a press briefing held in Uyo on Friday.

During interrogation, Okon Edet reportedly confessed to the heinous act, citing his father's alleged sale of all his land parcels, including the one designated for Okon's own home, as the motive behind the gruesome murder. According to CP Ayilara, Edet claimed that his father's actions left him with no choice but to take drastic measures.

He reassured the public that thorough investigations are underway, and all suspects will face legal consequences for their actions.
