Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested over 60 individuals during a drug party in the Federal Capital Territory on Friday.
The event, organized by Stanley Ikechukwu, led to the apprehension of 25 males and 35 females.
According to NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, the raid was based on credible intelligence. The party, named "Go Hard or Go Home. Pick Your Poison," was held at an apartment in Sun City estate. Six suspects were caught with various drugs, including ecstasy and cannabis. Those arrested include Victoria Adoga, Hamza Yari, Joanne Joy, Socchima Valentine, Jago Imole, and Charles Indobuibisi.
Babafemi noted that NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen Buba Marwa (retd.) ordered the unconditional release of 20 suspects who tested negative for drugs. The 33 who tested positive were released on bail and instructed to report to the NDLEA's FCT command on Monday for treatment and counseling.
Additionally, NDLEA operatives intercepted 6,125 cartons of codeine worth N7.3 billion, highlighting their ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and abuse.
