In a significant event marking the commencement of a new era in Edo State's leadership, Monday Okpebholo has been officially inaugurated as Governor.

The swearing-in ceremony, which took place at the iconic Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, was witnessed by a distinguished audience, underscoring the importance of this political transition.

Okpebholo's election, which followed months of intense campaigning, concluded with his victory to succeed Godwin Obaseki, who had completed two terms in office. During the formal proceedings, Chief Justice Daniel Okungbowa administered the oaths of office to both Governor Okpebholo and his Deputy, Idahosa. With their right hands raised, they pledged to uphold the constitution and dedicate themselves to the progress and welfare of the people of Edo State.

The ceremony attracted a notable lineup of dignitaries, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Chairman of the Governors' Forum, and other key figures from the All Progressives Congress (APC). Philip Shaibu, the reinstated deputy governor of Edo, was also in attendance, adding to the event's political significance.

As Governor Okpebholo and Deputy Governor Idahosa begin their administration, expectations run high for policies that will drive development and enrich the lives of Edo State's citizens.
