Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, has secured the People's Democratic Party's (PDP) nomination form ahead of the 2023 presidential elections.

According to NAIJACRAWL, a group calling itself "Like Minds for Peter Obi" paid N40 million for the presidential candidate's nomination form on Thursday.

Remember that the former governor said last week that he would compete for the presidency of Nigeria in the upcoming general elections as a member of the largest opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Ekene Nwakuche, the group's spokesman, told journalists shortly after the form was purchased that while the members don't engage in political politics, they united behind Peter Obi because of his ability.

"We don't belong to any political party," he stated. We are just a group of young Nigerian professionals who believe that the country is heading in the wrong direction and that we need someone, a seasoned technocrat, to lead the country's affairs in the correct direction while lowering the cost of governing. We feel Peter Obi can lead it forward, and we have faith in him because of what he accomplished as governor of Anambra. We've heard him speak; he's got the credentials to lead Nigeria to the promised land. "
