In a compassionate move to support families of fallen heroes, the Kogi State Police Command has distributed cheques totaling N11,245,379.

under the Group Life Assurance and IGP Family Welfare Schemes. This financial assistance was provided to the families of three late police officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Financial Relief for Bereaved Families

The announcement was made in a statement on Tuesday by the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Aya. He emphasized that the initiative aligns with the commitment of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, to ensuring that the families of deceased officers receive the support they need during difficult times.

“This initiative ensures that the families of our fallen heroes are not forgotten. It helps ease financial burdens and provides a sense of security as they navigate life without their loved ones,” the statement read.

Honoring the Sacrifice of Officers

The cheque presentation ceremony was attended by senior police officers of the Kogi State Police Command, along with the beneficiaries. The bereaved families expressed deep gratitude, acknowledging the financial aid as a crucial relief during a challenging period.

The police command reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the welfare of officers and their families. Through the Group Life Assurance Scheme and the IGP Family Welfare Scheme, the police force aims to continually support the loved ones of officers who die in active service, ensuring that their sacrifices are honored, recognized, and rewarded.

This initiative underscores the Nigerian Police Force’s dedication to officer welfare, family support, and national service.
