The Transition Technical Task Team (TTTT) of the Presidential Transition Council (PTC) has received assurances from the Ministry of Police Affairs that they can count on their support.
Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan, the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Police Affairs, provided the assurance on Tuesday during a conversation with the council.
The PTC delegation was at the ministry's Abuja headquarters under the direction of Ibrahim Hassan, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Policy and Development.
Enitan stated that the ministry would guarantee the prompt submission of its report to the council using both human and material resources.
He emphasized that the ministry's duties include protecting Nigerians and creating an environment that is conducive to their socioeconomic development and secure livelihoods.
Enitan claimed that the directive from the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) to the police included transition security and the gathering of data on all of the projects, programs, and policies of President Muhammadu Buhari's administration.
Speaking, Dr. Ibrahim Hassan said Executive Order No. 14 of 2023, signed by the President on February 9, 2023, provides the legal framework for facilitating and managing presidential transitions at the federal level.
The aide said the two key documents for the 2023 Presidential Transition Process were a compendium of policies, programs, and projects implemented in the nine priority areas of the outgoing government.
Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination, Dr. Habiba Lawal, is PTC Secretary and Federal Transition Coordinator.
