A Nigerian lady has taken to Twitter to narrate how a fraudster defrauded her of her hard earn money.

The lady who wanted to buy a new iPhone fell into the trick of the 'phone vendor' who later turned into a scammer. The lady affirmed that she has the guy's phone number, and she always sees his Whatsapp status about being a phone plug. However, after paying over 300k to the guy, he ran away.

This is the full gist as narrated by the lady.

"I was interested in getting a new phone so I replied the message, saying ‘can I make part payment for this and pay the remaining at the end of the month when I collect my salary?’ The vendor replied, yes you can. Then I deposited 50k into his account.

Well, I made more enquires about the phone to know if It’s good enough to buy it. Note: I haven’t gotten anything from him neither do I know anyone who has gotten stuffs from him before, I had his contact for a while and I can’t remember where I got it from, all I know is he’s…

…a phone vendor on my WhatsApp. On the 26th of June, I deposited another 40k, that’s 90k altogether. I told him I’d buy a charger, pouch and screenguard, he told me it was 12k which I agreed to pay for it alongside with the phone.

Remember I had promised to pay up the balance at the end of the month when I collect my salary but unfortunately for me, my company didn’t pay us our salaries on time as usual, I informed him about that on the 1st of July, he replied ‘no problem’. Kept on texting him not to…

…be angry that i didn’t fulfill my promise of paying the balance at the end of the month but he really understood. Tuesday 5th of July, I paid 40k to his account, that’s 130k altogether. 20th of July, I sent another 40k to his account, that’s 170k in total.

August 3rd, I finally paid up, I sent him 38k. 20k for the balance of the phone, 12k for the accessories and 6k for delivery fee to port harcourt. Note: he stays in Lagos. I decided to get my younger brother a new phone too so I sent it 110k, 105k for the phone(Samsung s9+)…

and 5k for the charger. I sent Ayotheplug (the phone vendor) 318k in total for both phones, accessories and for delivery.

Saturday, 6th of august, he told me he has sent the phone. On Monday, I was asking the vendor the exact delivery company he used to send my phone,

he said he just used a normal bus, after paying 6k for delivery fee he used an unregistered bus, I became so furious and irritated at that point. On Tuesday,I texted the vendor that I wanted a refund, cos how will he send goods worth over 300k through an unregistered bus when…

…there are lot of registered delivery companies, the vendor began to blame me saying that he sent it through normal bus cos I couldn’t afford GIG or DHL, wow, just wow! I still received insult on top my own money oo. I tried to call the vendor but he kept his phone on DND.

I confronted him on WhatsApp, he was like he was sleeping and do I expect him not to sleep? At this point, I knew something was fishy. Tuesday, 9th of August, I narrated the whole story to a friend, he collected the vendor’s number and told him to either refund my money or get.

..the phone sent to port harcourt that he had till Thursday to do that. The vendor texted me that I was sending threats and all of that, but he told me he was going to send his rider to go back to the park to check for the driver.

I haven’t heard from the vendor since Thursday 11th of august till now. His number doesn’t go through anytime i call. I even noticed that he blocked me from viewing his WhatsApp status. I still check the vendor’s personal Instagram page (just_ayotheplug) all the time,

he posts on his story enjoying his life. All I want right now is my money back. It’s sad some youths now do anything for money.😔

All proves of payments
