A dramatic scene unfolded at the Faculty of Arts, Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, after a female student attacked and bit a lecturer, Dr.
Chukwudi Michael, following a heated argument.
The incident occurred when Dr. Michael interrupted the student while she was filming a dance video in the faculty corridor. According to eyewitnesses, the lecturer tapped her on the shoulder and politely said, "Excuse me," as he passed by. However, the student reacted angrily, exclaiming, "Can you imagine how he just hit me?"
Tensions quickly escalated as the student grabbed the lecturer's clothes aggressively, leading to a physical confrontation despite onlookers' efforts to intervene. A viral video circulating on social media shows the student confronting Dr. Michael, insisting that he hit her, while he raises his hands in restraint as she forcefully holds onto him.
UNIZIK's Chief Security Officer, Ken Chukwurah, confirmed the incident and assured that the university is investigating the matter.
"Yes, an incident like that happened. Investigations are ongoing, and the school will release an official statement once we conclude our findings," Chukwurah stated.
