Two Catholic priests kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
The attack on the religious is still on the rise again. There have been so many news of Catholic priests been abducted by unknown gunmen through out the year, also the high rate of insecurity is becoming more alarming that the citizens of the country are beginning to question the capability of the security departments in the country.
Two Catholic priests, Rev Fr Joseph Nweke and Rev Fr Felix Efobi of the Catholic diocese of Awka have been abducted by unknown gunmen on thier way to a wedding reception in ondo state. The two clergymen were coming from awka to attend the wedding in Akure but were abducted before they could get to the venue. According to an eyewitness, the priests were on a convoy with the bridal train when the kidnappers alighted from a nearby bush along benin - owo expressway and stopped the convoy and ordered the priests to come down from thier car and they took them away leaving the others unharmed.
The Catholic diocese of Akure have confirmed the incident and assured that proper procedures will be followed in order to ensure the release of the clergymen soonest.
